Cold air heat shield — 2009 TSX CU2

Not a shop. Just me in a garage, remaking the heat shield I run on my own car. Early kits. First buyers: I work with you to get it on right.

$70 GTA pickup · $100 + shipping

What you get

  • Block-off plates (engine side + radiator / battery side)
  • Brackets
  • Install instructions

You keep the OEM pipe from the bumper to where the box sits. You may need RTV on the joint between the two plates. Bolts for the OEM mount points may or may not be included — this is an MVP. Filter / MAF adapter not included unless we sort that for your order.

Fitment

2009 Acura TSX CU2 only. Other K24 cars (Accord, etc.) — untested. Don't assume it bolts up.

Install

Tear down the OEM airbox, keep the bumper-side OEM pipe, assemble brackets and plates. Once you have the parts, figure ~20–30 minutes to get it in. Non-stock filter flow needs MAF scaling — I can share my KTuner calibration / curve.

Why it exists

Short ram was hitting ~60°C IATs crawling the 410 at Steeles in Brampton heat. This shield: roughly 5°C over ambient highway / normal traffic, ~10°C in traffic, higher if you're barely rolling bumper to bumper. Never saw over 50°C on a 35°C day in heavy traffic. OBD2. Full story on the build post.

As-is

For off-road use only. No warranty. No returns. No liability. I'll help you get it installed when I can — DM me like a human.

2009 Acura TSX CU2 Cold Air Heat Shield Kit — $70 local / $100 + shipping

Garage-built heat shield for the OEM intake path. Block-off plates, brackets, instructions. You keep the OEM bumper-to-box pipe. ~20–30 min install once you have the parts. May need RTV on the plate joint. Bolts / filter not guaranteed in early kits — MVP, I'll work with you.

Fitment: 2009 TSX CU2 ONLY. Other cars untested.

Why: short ram was hitting ~60°C IATs in Brampton 410 / Steeles traffic. With this: ~5°C over ambient highway/normal traffic, ~10°C in traffic (OBD2). Never over 50°C on a 35°C day in heavy traffic on my car.

Quieter than a loud open CAI, louder than OEM. VTEC snap still there.

$70 GTA pickup. $100 + shipping otherwise. No tax on local.
No returns / no warranty / for off-road use only. First buyers: I build it at home and help you get it right.
